River Deûle - Upgrading to 3.000 T-capacity

Spring 2014 saw the start of the refurbishment of the two fill areas to allow the infill of the material dredged to deepen and widen the River Deûle. After the upgrading of the banks between 2012 and 2014, the dredging works got started to allow ships to up to 3.000 tonnes to use this river.

Stage 1 saw the refurbishment of the Quesnoy-sur-Deûle tip area to allow a further 150.000m³ of silt dredged from the downstream end of the river. At Emmerin the tip area was enlarged to receive an additional quantity of 600.000m³.

Dredging started August 2014 and is still under construction.
